the loader is looking for that file based on the registry settings it found in your systems!

it tries to get the path of your installation from reading your registry i will uplaod a reg file to edit your self with your own paths and run it to your systems.

btw can someone remind me where the starter edition has its registry keys that say where its installed?

so that i can make a new version for better compatibility with starter edition registry paths.

still you place this into your sc2 folder shoudl be ok.

@vox, where is your loader located? and do you have that files that it tries to find in your sc2 installation path?

what is your sc2 installation path?

thats why i hate torrent stand alone versions :P

as you can see i have uploaded the paths in the registry where the game declares when its retail and installed.

edit them FIRST with a notepad and add your own path that the page is installed! be careful as i say to my comments inside do not remove the double slashes where ever they are!

  • i had the same error file not found and the launcher was searching sc2 on the disk d , you just have to change the reg entry win+r regedit,hkey_localmachine/software/blizzard entertaiment, and change sc path install path and game path with the right path ,
and other problem was ,that i can play the game with snifys loader and id flt@trash-mail.com , but when i use this loader i cant play offline mode, it says "starter edition cant play hots" , and doesnt work any mail
and i want ask if i can play replays, i mean if i can play control mode ?, because i tried and i cal play just with my own replays vs ai , and other replays of the internet when i put control mode appears the countdown but the other player of the replay left the game

guys we said this like a trillion times.
    if you have latest cache
this tool (finding your game properly)
    login as offline@sc2allin1.net

you should be able to play. make sure you havent left over any old email accounts in your login screen and tries to connect with that.

also there is a small possibility very old and slow pcs or for sure very agressive Antiviruses systems will block it from hacking sc2 proeprly!

you must have UAC, and AV totally disabled.

I recommend you to clean your PC from any and all belongings of Starcraft and perform a new clean install by using the EnGB Blizzard web installer. Install the game into the DEFAULT installation directory to make sure regisrty wont messes up anything. (C:\program files (x86)\StarCraft II)
After that, start the loader. You won't get any more startup errors.

  • i think you shouldnt move your game to d: may just copy , the next launcher will have c at path not d :) i think, if there is not local_machine reg key make a newone [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\StarCraft II], and try to add this [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\StarCraft II Retail] , adding a new values : GamePath ,InstallPath both with C:\Program Files\StarCraft II\, (your install path)

  • Part 1: (character post limit here)

With loader get a stack crash, without just can't play but game runs.

System involved, Win 7 x64 sp1, fully updated, asus sabertooth 990fx board, 16gb ram, 8350 cpu, stock, tested against all stress tests, runs peachy even in prime, install enGB from dvd original, updated via battlenet, identical copy runs on 9950 x4 with same os using flt lic gen.
