I don't think you've done your research well enough.
In any game where the enemy is going air, most notably protoss with carrier+mothership they really are great counters.
However, with a greater spire you can turn some of your corrupter into brood lords and rape an entire army/base, while still having some corrupter protecting your brood lords from air attack.
Nothing can really counter a mass corrupter and brood lord strike.
@Yucie how about thors, maybe assisted by marines (you'll have to focus with the marines since they tend to get distracted by the broodlings). They would counter it fairly well I think. And phoenix+stalkers maybe HT. (i'm not that familiar with protoss. But I totally agree with you, broodlords are beasts! and corrupters are by no means useless!
@Yucie: Well, mostly true. But broodlords CAN be countered given that you scout it early enough. Problem is that Protoss in particular lacks really good anti-air units. That's one of the things I'm really hoping to see in the next patch.

I dont agree. Helions with infernal are great for hydralisk. You can also use them to drop on workers. And they are fast so if some one is zealot heavy and dont have charge you can also use them and its good that they dont need tech-lab and gas. Just minerals and you can make mass with reactors.
Hellions dont do too well against hydralisks simply due to the range. With the hydralisk range being just about the same as the hellion one, the AoE doesnt affect them too much, coupled with the hydralisk's high damage.
But they are fast and thay do splash damage. They can get closer and hit hydras, they also have less hp and they need gas. Agree with range. But helion is not as useless as corruptor.
corruptors are very good on air because they have bonus damage against massive units(battlecruisers, cariers, brood lords) but they are not impact less against the ground units. they have the ability to make enemy units to take 20% more damage for 30 seconds... this can be crucial for a hard battle
Im a terran but remember you need them for the vikings BCs and to make broodlords to destroy our tanks :P Hellions are SOOOOOO useful against any race. EXAMPLES: 1.Mineral line harassment drop burn/melt/disintegrate leave.
2.Meatshield units- enemy has siege tanks? Rush in absorb damage kill tanks with other units or get too close to force a de-siege (but if the tanks are guarded find some open paths and harrass minerals as seen in 1.

corrupter are one of the most useful zerg units in this game. It is the best damage wise for the price against air units, then add its special ability into the mix and it can help you kill thors, immortals, all that 25% faster then normal, they are worth the money, all ya need is like 5 and your all set:)

If your enemy goes void-carrier(which i see pretty commonly) going muta-corrupter can easily counter that if you have the right ratio. What I have found is that mass carrier pretty much pwns all zerg units besides corrupters. However, void rays counter corruptors so get some mutas.
he blocks me in base with cannons, i make expo fly to other base across from me, Metapolis map, he expos at same time, I didn't know he did, i begin making tanks and marines at main and tech to battlecruisers to fly into maincamp when he attacks, play it like i had no expo destroy cannons and build at natuaral, he comes with voids and collosus gg i lose cruisers all die, thors and tanks die, marines and medi's die his army lives litterally all collosus and voids, had vikings but it all fell apart:(

Do you use them? I think they are extreamly weak and useless. I know i can use them to contre battlecruisers and carriers but... they are useless !!

The only good ability of corruptors is "morph into broodlord". Yucie I think your strategy is pretty good but it's very expensive.
@Santa - the point isn't to find potential ways it can be countered, the point was showing they aren't useless at all.
@David - In late game, resources are rarely a problem, and that's usually when they are used more often.

hellions are not useless if u have like 5 u can easily counter about 15 zerglings
If you have 1 with good micro, you can counter 15 zerglings.
Just stay off the creep.
my question is why they named it a CORRUPTER for a squid monster thats anti air.
corruptors have debufflike skill "corruption" that increase damage taken by enemy unit by 20% for 30s , so that would be the reason
hellions are great in mineral line harass and can kill zerglings extremely well
Corruptors are great against mutalisks in a muta-war, phoenix (when you already went spire) and all large air, esp. with their ability.
In addition, they are a great (the best) counter to collossi.

hellion vs hydra = hydra
upgraded hellion vs hydra = hellion
both upgraded = micro skill on terran part

Void rays counter cruisers, marine counter void rays, colossi counter marines... Vikings counter both? I think mass viking would win that game.
