terran58this tool have no mess with sc2 original files and this is the point because you dont need to reinstall weekly and in my opinion starcrackAI is the best(still developing) and this tool make it easy to use (for some guys like me) but if there is safe way to use another AI(with full potential) its good to make it optional, because you can support wide range of people and thank you vernam for this tool and responding.

i am targeting for a version where you can create your own custom AI, not only edit starCrack AI but actually have folders with your triggerlibs and galaxy script you creat AI profiles and when you wish to play in the drop downmenu there will be all the AI you created and you wish to play with.
but that mean replays will be harder for you to reproduce!
unfortunatly we cant have them both.

Maybe i wasn't clear, but its the same like you did with sc2data n previous versions. You have the original default SC2Archive and you have an AI SC2Archive. And when you want to play AI just select it from drop down menu and your tool automatically replaces default SC2Archive with AI one and vice-versa. That way you can watch all replays. About reinstalling game that's just ridiculous, because you are overwriting just one file, and back-up at the same time one you want to replace, its much less complicated than with triggerlibs, or any other method. So instead people doing it manually your tool could do it automatically.Very simple...at least for me.

in the latest version there is some opy paste but will no be in the next release! now its temp.
sc2archive is HUGE in size! i cant in anyway creat files 20mb for each version!
thats why now i am perfecting my dynamic method of patching the AI with the one user wants!
also backing up the original files isnt that easy as you think!
because lets just say that the tool on lauche searches and creates backup of the original unmodified file IF its unmodified!
then you play a game and something happens and the tool doesntclose properly to restore the file!
the next time the process will berepeated the files the tool needs to backup will be allready modified and it will keep them as originals!! and the error cyrcle will not stop! people will complain that the ai is stuck to "this version" and cant play online any more and lots of issues that i have tested weeks before so its not that simple as you say! hehe
there are lots of stuff that can go wrong! the tool is not a microsoft os you know to demand 1000gb and do all sorts of functions, it needs to stay as small and light as possible and also flexible! play with all versions of starcraft and all Localization of starcraft as well! all those parametrs need to be taken seriously when i am making the Analysis for the software.
so to sum up, the basic common think all ai has is one! TriggerLibs folders!

You are good developer because you answered every single user in this forum. Many developers won't do that. Frankly to say i don't know how you get so much time to do everything. I realized that a droop down menu for sc2 version selection , could be very useful (for problems with play the game after patches) of course you know better than anyone else what should you do

Now that the editor is out. I would like to be able to add my map to the current map list and play it with any AI, and be able to play with team vs team and map settings. I have tried playing with a lower patch, but the game says it can't play it. I have the latest SC2 patch.

as long as your map is bug free and has the basic standars, you know player slots, positions resources etc etc etc.
i am not gona be responsible for peoples maps ;-)

Suggestion: Random Map ?? Sometimes I just have no idea which map to play on. So I'd like to leave my decision to luck.
The AI also plays differently on different maps. For Zerg AI they will zergling rush you at steppes of war, but they wouldn't do that unless they have scouted you on scrapped station.
Random Map was something i had almost ready to implement few version ago but i dont remember exactly, something major happned that drove my attention and i drop it.
i will defenetly introduce it again. i have even finalised the way it will work
it would be ALL random all player slots will be to random, you will not control nothing race, teams, etc, nothing,
the launcher will pick up a random map from the list will add Random numbers of players, (even if maximum is 4 in a map it could set only 3) it will randomly generate TEAMS, races, positions,colors, and what i am thinking of leaving to player is if the teams (if created) will share units and expensives, and the game speed he wants, and the difficulty. When the difficulty become per player Even that will be set randomly!
so when the game starts you may only see in what map you will play from the loading screen but have no idea about the rest!! :P

by default blizzard uses the "..mydocuments\starcraft 2 beta\maps\"
i am not gona change that because a noob cant open a windows folder after i have told him 1 bilion times, and his stupid AV destroys my files!
2)i currently CAN import SC2MAP files (the custom ones) and those are just also copied them over the right map folder, i may also make the map list something like the replay tree system with that way i could support and sub fodlers into the map folder like the "Custom" where by default the map editor save the files.
3)the map path could be visible in the v10. now no space to do it :P
4)delete the entire map folder? hmmmmmmm could be deadly...but possible, again the replay right click system could be helpfull. i will just ADD the "Edit Folder" from the maps right click menu.

@moot i added yesterday the black color to my internal build when will be released this week you will have it. i dont want to go way crazy than the standar colors 8 + white + black.

He more likely means a color picker than decals, eg symbols like omega, etc aren't even available in game.
oh yea i see, i think i can do that! actually i have done that in an experimental form, but it cant be added in the current UI, i need more space for that!
so it will have to wait until v10.x ;-)
@Oren as i said 1trilion of times a new replay Parser is under development that will allow you to know wich version the replay was, BUT that should be in the site you downloaded, dont complain here.

LOL Please leave the race selection to us. I would love to pick my own race. Just random map would suffice.
But of course you could let us choose to play full random (map & race) or partial random (map only/race only)

@ vernam7, launcher map handling enhancement suggestions.
1. Hard coded for two map folders, one the official maps, and the other custom.
2. Map folder(s) path, to be visible.
3. Ability to delete an entire map folder, and the contents. (This may not be necessary if suggestion one is implemented.)
