  • Extract to some folder.
Rename files to sc2-patch.MPQ, put it into the Sc2 support folder then press update. Repeat on all files.

  • Wow, no one knows this???!??!?!? I'm sort of surprised.

Make a file called realmlist.stf inside your *starcraft 2 beta*/support folder. put the following text inside the file.

    set patchlist eu-beta.patch.battle.net:1120/patch

    Super easy -_-

P.S. You have to re-edit the file after every patch back to eu.

Nice a lot of people have been asking this. I have never messed with anything but the real beta so i had no clue.

It's not "super easy" for everyone. Many people's clients are not even attempting to update, so changing the realmlist doesn't do anything to help them patch. On top of that, manually patching past 12.1 also isn't working, so a lot of us are still waiting for another solution.

I love how everyone here assumes that if something worked for them it will work on every hardware configuration on every operating system. It won't.

  • lol u got that right... but just remove battle.net.mpq on the battle net folder so patch 13+ will work..
since beta hasnt started... just move the battle.net.mpq out somewhere for the moment. so u can play sc2 until beta phase is back

and Itake, do it urself before assuming... i been tampering with blizzard stuff myself and realmlist.stf changing was back when i was playing WoW private server, and it wasnt anything new to me.
the EU server is down too so u cant update from what Vernam mention.

  • when u say put a "file" in the support folder for the realmlist.stf, what kind of "file" a text doc? basically, i went in there and tried to create new, and the only viable options i saw were created new folder(not gonna help) or text doc. whats the step by step for putting the correct "file" in the support folder?

  • 1stly, make sure you show hidden extentions for file types. The realmlist.stf should already be a file in your support folder but if it is missing, create a new text document, put the line in and rename it from "New Text Document.txt" to "realmlist.stf". The .txt will only appear if you have your options set to show known file extentions.

  • The file type is .stf ... im not sure if thats a custom type blizzard made or not.. I have not seen it before. It looks like it reads just like a txt file.

I would download something like notepad++
    http://www.notepad-plus-plus.org/
    Its free and open source.
If you use a windows text editor you have to be carefull they like to add .doc or other formats to the end of the file name.

notepad++ is good for a lot of things check it out.

  • i have the solution!! i find it ^^ for that people that realmlist.stf do not work, cuz having the first patch of sc2 like me.

1- just go to folder of Support and take the archive Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest in it , make a copy of this on other folder ,

2- and rename it with realmlist.stf ok u have the archive , now open with word pad and write '' set patchlist eu-beta.patch.battle.net:1120/patch '' inside

3- put it back on support folder !!!!!!! GO SC ;DDD
