What's the best way to win a game?

  • What is the best way to win a game in your opinion? The sooner the better or the later the better? Give some points to support whichever you choose. Ignore this thread if you are just willing to play the game only.

  • It's depending on the maps size and your scout information. But as a zerg, I always try to win the game early with my zerglings :)

  • I hate rushing, however, due to the sheer number of rushers during any league game, I am forced to come out with early defenses. However, if possible, I usually try to go for a long game. In my opinion, it opens up alot of more interesting options for gameplay rather than the mass T1 unit every rusher is forced to go with. The game should be about being able to react to different situations and microing well, not just about who can produce units first.

  • It depends on the game.. sometimes you can't end it early, sometimes people are pulling cute crap all over the map and making it very hard to engage, like in tvp when toss keeps blink microing all over against your lings... in this case, it can become a long game of expend, macro, and so on until somebody loses.. usually the person with the best macro can overrun players who are too busy with micro.. but no amount of units will win you the game if controlled terrribly so find a balance.

I poke early, and do what damage I can, while leaving enough behind to prevent a counter if I lose too many units with the initial poke.. This poke often forces many people to get thrown off rhythm and skew their build which can be very effective in lower leagues because most people there use one or two main builds, if u F it up, they're all done.

If the poke fails, expand if possible, but either way, macro up units and get good intel to counter his units, and you should be just fine.

IMO, I just care about how to win in the way of black or white, either in a long game or a short game. I mean, somebody always wants to win in whatever he/she can throw out, like photon cannons rush, or zealots rush etc. These perhaps are most hateful way to win. In a long running, these make you lose calm and you probably just want to give those opponents any offense word you know. However, you must admit that they know how to control the mentality of you/your teammates meantime. Don't fool yourselves in whatever they expected. Force them back or trigger a backfire may be a wise choice too.

Counter with same crap is always my favor.

I agree to this, it applies to any similar things, even in FPS. However, I just care about how to win as what I described above.

  • Ok, the DOTA map is ended. What I got from it's a less-no-brainer training. Anyone played that before?
