Ok so map hosting is working great, congrats to us, now we want to make it amazing.
I wanted to throw out a quick plan for what we're going to be doing with the Nibbits map hosting bots, and the site.
Right now the bots can rotate maps, however, theres only one game in the lobby at a time, per bot. My plan is to run 10 bots on USWest, and USEast, each will host one of the top 10 maps on Nibbits, and they will only host that.
Going beyond this, we will also be integrating accounts on Nibbits with Battle.net accounts. This will let you verify your account with one of the bots, and have it linked with your account on the website.
Once this is done, we're going to be showing stats of which maps you play, how often you play them, and how often you get your ass kicked ;)
Even more so, we want to move beyond just map hosting, but more statistics for maps to improve our ranking algorithms. We're currently looking into watching Battle.net actively for games, and tracking how often a map is hosted, as well as being able to automatically submit maps which are hosted to the website.
Anyways, I will have more on this in a few weeks. Thanks for the continued support on Nibbits!
Out of curiosity I was wondering if you had noticed the bots having some performance issues lately? It seems like they've been a tad spiky, which can be a bit dangerous during Enfos.
Also, is there a way for people to earn some commands such as !swap and !end?
No reason to use !end, the bot has yet to fill up (that I've noticed). !swap is useful, but I'm very hesitant to give out any kind of moderation abilities on the bot.
and how about hosted projects?... does the bot ever host those maps?... coz it would be interesting for those maps to be known to more people dont you think?
Understandable. Would it be possible to have bots for Enfos at least with intended difficulties? Or perhaps 1 host a no-dl? The only reason I say this is that playing it on -easy -extrabounty 5 -sharedbounty is terribly dull for repeat players.
I plan to automate the map hosting, but that's still going to take some time. Since hosted projects include maps, as long as those maps are "popular" they will get hosted.
Right now the current plan will be to update the popular maps each day, and that means any map that makes it to the popular stage, will get hosted for at least 24 hours.
It comes to the point that people do not try out new maps exclusively but get addicted to popular maps, that means new maps might not get the chance ;(. That's what I mean
Sometimes that is true, but the ranking system on Nibbits is designed to give new maps a benefit. So far it seems to be working decently but I might increase it a bit more.
As of right now all development towards the bot is on hold. I'm waiting to see if Blizzard takes steps to ban them before investing more time into it (as it's quite a bit of effort to do what I want to do).

what could possibly be !swap and !end?
!swap allows them to rotate players in the lobby.
!end ends games to keep the bot from continuing on because it's over but there are AFK's/etc.
No reason to use !end, the bot has yet to fill up (that I've noticed). !swap is useful, but I'm very hesitant to give out any kind of moderation abilities on the bot.

Can you update the Civ Wars bot? It is still hosting 2.17b and 2.18 was finally released.
Will try to get this updated tomorrow :)
what is progress?
