I see you are part of a team that already make maps for SC2 for some time...
I used to make maps for WC3, I just bought SC2. Triggers and object editing are just slightly different.
I was training these days...
anyway. I cant enter other project because, while I am good at what I do, I am not fully used with SC2 editor and I wouldnt be so productive in the first week.
thats why I want to start a project (sandbox RPG with little survival). because I can get used as I also plan how the game will be.
these are my ideas for this RPG
---freedom of choice and play ---player choose unit model, not class ------maybe depending on the model choosed, cant go ranged, or melee. ---player build class as he will (in character) ------maybe gain skill as he uses. ---crafting system, building system, melee, ranged ---NPC town just to make the map more beautyfull, with lots of triggers and story and animations (I want something really fun to watch) ---there are places (most of them) where you can build. other places you cant (like NPC cities, you cant build on them) ---survival aspect will be like minecraft, have to protect yourself in the night. (or for any other reason)
etc, etc, etc...
Inspired in: darkfall, mortal online, Ultima Online. (sandboxes in general) but off course, much more casual XD
Things I dont want, and its common to see in games (even great titles) ---a great variety of skills, but not much difference in what they do: ------ranged class: ranged attack + skill of great dmg (aimed shot) ------mage class: ranged attack + skill of great dmg (fireball)
------ranged class: hit many enemies (scatter shot, etc) ------mage class: hit many enemies (spread fire, or ice, or whatever)
skills type: melee, ranged, crafting skills, building skills. + skills that come with equipment you wear.
the mage class: there will be no mage, since its not forgotten helms, middle age or whatever.
but I want a great dose of spirituality in this game, a great mystic point of view, profound view...
equipments provide skills, so, you want mage with distortion of reality, craft equips, or buy from who crafts :D
No Grinding I want people to play because of the replay value, and because they like the experience of playing. I dont want them playing so they can get a higher tier, etc...
if I spent some weeks programming a certain evolution path, I dont bother people maxing that skills in 1 hour or 2. I want it to be fun. I want to be an ammazing experience.
well. just thinking. I havent planned/writed anything on paper yet.
I plan to create a noob friendly sandbox rpg map (with a little of survival aspect).
I am good at triggers, data editing, and programming things.
I am looking for a partner to create the terrain and visual things.
I replied with a map that can use those skills to finish it. That if you are interested to reply.
The map is only at the concept stage of where triggers and such like go. The map needs triggers (coding which I can't do) and artistically rendered (which I can do).
If you wish to develop that specific map, then I can make such available to you, so you can make a start on adding triggers.
If this isn't for you, then that is cool too.
Please take another look at the map and if you wish to work on that from a trigger side of things, let me know. I would then continue to create it.
Just so you know, I release maps as open source, so what ever work you contribute will be open source.
Alternatively, as my maps are open source, you are welcome to use any of those to add triggers, as long as they remain open source. I won't be working on those, re triggers etc.

2- Its a more technologic and socially developed city compared to the other humans cities. Less developed than the aliens (protoss) city. Atlantis is a segregated city. Only People that are considered to have a minimum intelligence live there. This was caused by the Apprentices, Scientists, and Intellectuals. This action was supported by the Aliens People there have more afinity with the Alien city.
3- Social Classes: There is People in that city that holds the rank: Apprentice, given by the Aliens. Those people have a more strait relationship with the aliens. They have more of a spiritual developed personality.
There are scientists, that are driven by the will of developing and testing new technologies. This class holds more finantial power. They have a more skeptic view about the spiritual teachings.
There are common people. Some more spiritual minded, others more scientific. Most of them dont agree with the segregation that exist between Atlantis and other humans cities in the world. They are characterized by the will of helping and interfering with other human cities. Apprentices and Scientists considers them as naive.
Religion: While they have no religion, They have either Spiritual beliefs or Scientific theories.
Family structure: Marriage is not a popular thing. Just a few people there (conservatives) marry each other.
Civic Organizations: The Spiritual Society is formed with Apprentices and mind-liked people. Its a Fraternal Society where the purpose is to take care of each-other needs. They Gaguer to discuss some aspects of the current state of Atlantis and Spiritual teachings.
The Scientific Society is formed by scientists and supported by mind-liked people. Their greatest purpose is to science and its progress. Their meetings consist of discussion about: whether they should invest in a certain technology.
There are small groups of common people that gathers to help the other cities. ----

2. I will notate the map with ideas about a story and what triggers might go well at various places. This is like a guide, a suggestion from which you can create your own ideas.
3. Once you have the beta map and brief notes, you can commence experimenting with triggers and the like. It is best if you simply do what you consider is best in this area.
You can reply to me in like two weeks with your progress and suggestions for me regarding the map and the story line. So lets say Saturday 14 July 2012 at this stage.
4. The process will be one of alternating work on the map until it is completed.
The original concept for this map belongs to Vernam7 and it would be good to get this map realized.
I have experience with all aspects of map creation as well as story lines. I am an artist across a number of disciplines.
I can be easily contacted here and will reply. I envisage that this project may take a few months to complete. Attaining a high quality is essential.
When the map is nearing completion, perhaps Vernam7 would be interested in giving it a test drive. We could also at that time perhaps have a closed beta to iron out any problems prior to release.
If the map can be completed by Christmas this year, I would regard that as a good outcome. It is all about quality and that takes a lot of effort and time.

The layout of the map will be the foundation of the triggers and the story. With the player commencing atop the mountain in the center of the map. This allows for interaction in all directions.
So the next thing that will happen is, on Saturday 30 June 2012 I will PM you a link of the updated map.
It will take a long time to finalize the map and your triggers and story may affect the design slightly eg you may need a valley or an open field or a body of water and the like.
As long as these are small changes, that is fine. The basic regional shape of the map needs to remain recognizable to what it is now. So it is the same map, just developed.

i recently upgraded my desktop (new Raid Disks + new VGA), so i am also in the middle of Formating, setuping evrything in the system, lots of boxes are still closed from the relocation,at the same time i am taking lessons to finish my MCPD certification, lots of reading, and its all in a chaos state right now!! :P
+plus regular dayly Work! besides serfing and monitoring the forums i ready dont have much clear time to finish anthing at the moment, i am doing a bit of everything slowly.

ok so: about SC2Allin1. I was able to play the map using it. but there was the melee initialization wich I cant remove, because the editor isn't able to handle this file.

My world is one of music at the moment, having performed three Edith Piaf numbers in the city on Tuesday 19 June 2012, street performer (not busking):

As the music for "Tu Es Partout" doesn't exist, I had to compose that. That is the "famous" song from Saving Private Ryan.
I am presently learning, La Foule and Padam Padam ... funny that I can sing in French but can't actually speak it!

Basically I am waiting for your feedback as to what triggers you want to put where and where units will likely move. Best to open up a graphics program and draw onto a screenshot of the map. I use Paint.NET
Then we can discuss such, I can make the graphics updates, and you can have another look at the triggers and the like.
Fitting that a Greek (Vernam7) originated the concept of this map. I am part Viking (Nord/Germanic) and Med (Roman/Greek) in DNA. So "invisible" among such populations. I consider myself Western European though ... even though I grew up and live in Australia.
Minoan/Atlantis all very interesting ... perhaps a proto-Greek culture, they were certainly very advanced for their time, but lost their civilization to a tsunami. Vernam7 and I may have ancestors connected to them!!!
As this map is "Atlantis Terrainis", eg the "Atlantis" of the "Terran", hence the player being Terran in the middle of the map, perhaps a two hour game timer to "win" before a tsunami flood comes and the game ends?
This could be quite spectacular depending on the triggers. There is the possibility of me creating a short video, like games do with cut-shots and music depicting the end, people running and screaming. I can do all that. This can be used as a promo for the map.
I think just take your time and a guide to have fun with this. I work pretty intensely, it is actually fun for me ... a very higher achiever in all areas of my life.
I look forward to our work progressing for an end year release that will make a "splash" ... sorry! :P (humor attempt)

When you are ready, please upload the map to a secure location and also a screenshot with changes in geography you wish to discuss.
Then after agreement, I can update that map, upload it, and you can continue to develop your triggers and ideas.
So we will be working on a single map, alternating. It doesn't take me long to make small changes.
The final painting and artistic rendering with doodads will take a lot of time, maybe two weeks.

Fitting that a Greek (Vernam7) originated the concept of this map. I am part Viking (Nord/Germanic) and Med (Roman/Greek) in DNA. So "invisible" among such populations. I consider myself Western European though ... even though I grew up and live in Australia.
Minoan/Atlantis all very interesting ... perhaps a proto-Greek culture, they were certainly very advanced for their time, but lost their civilization to a tsunami. Vernam7 and I may have ancestors connected to them!!!
As this map is "Atlantis Terrainis", eg the "Atlantis" of the "Terran", hence the player being Terran in the middle of the map, perhaps a two hour game timer to "win" before a tsunami flood comes and the game ends?
This could be quite spectacular depending on the triggers. There is the possibility of me creating a short video, like games do with cut-shots and music depicting the end, people running and screaming. I can do all that. This can be used as a promo for the map.
I think just take your time and a guide to have fun with this. I work pretty intensely, it is actually fun for me ... a very higher achiever in all areas of my life.
I look forward to our work progressing for an end year release that will make a "splash" ... sorry! :P (humor attempt)

When you are ready, please upload the map to a secure location and also a screenshot with changes in geography you wish to discuss.
Then after agreement, I can update that map, upload it, and you can continue to develop your triggers and ideas.
So we will be working on a single map, alternating. It doesn't take me long to make small changes.
The final painting and artistic rendering with doodads will take a lot of time, maybe two weeks.

I am Brazilian, from the South: Paraná, but living in Presidente Prudente São-Paulo.
My ancestors? Italians (father side) Indians/Natives (mother side).
I used to program in C/C++ Java, PHP+MYSQL. But now I dont want to force my brain with low level languages (low: to close to the machine). I tried some other things, like flash developing (using engines), WarCraft 3 and now StarCraft 2.
I can't live without developing something.
