  • This game is retarded. no matter what difficulty I play, I get zerg'd. There's no strategy or tactics involved. I played w/ a friend, 2 v 1 (computer on normal) & we got pwned. We try on easy, we get pwned. There's no enjoyment w/ this game. It's all about rush, rush, zerg, game over.

  • Basicaly what people are expiriencing might not ba an insane difficulty, as it is virtually the result of every high level SC2 game where the terran player with good macro and micro realizes how poorely the game is balanced.

    A friend of mine who playes Terran for flavour and is a bad player beats a cheating Insane zerg AI every time. I believe he could beat several at the same time.

    I'm not sure if I'm using this AI atm, but any terran AI that is optimized for a Marine Marauder early push (followed by Marine Mearauder Medivac, followed by the same with Ravens) is unbeatable.

    Well, that is not true, I have to say. If I slow the game speed to slowest so that I get pro micro i can beat him every time if can get my 3-5 Roaches at his ramp when he has 5-7 marines I will win every time as the AI doesn't block the ramp. If it did, I would never, ubder any circumstances, win.

    Actually, if someone here would program the AI for a wall off and an optimized MMM that would always attack at 5 mins I think it would be unbeatable. After two days of this i keep watching pro Zerg wins and generally notice that they only won because the other guy didnt MMM him knowing that zerg can't mathematicaly do anything effective against it.

    My friend who beats Insane Zerg AI with Terran on fastest speed does it with one base and little to no micro, and basicaly achieves the same thing as an Insane cheating AI. I believe any pro could do the same on any map with a blockable choke point.

  • i have a suggestion, it may work. i am not a good SC2 player. but currently i can beat SC2allin1 Very Hard, i havent tried insane yet because it is already pretty much insane at Very Hard for me.

    what i did was.
    build Spine Crawlers, Bunkers, Proton Cannons, 2 or 3 of them to help ward off. (build basic units to defend as well)

    right after the 2nd push,
    for Zerg - build tonnes of Mutalisk
    for Protoss - build tonnes of Stalkers
    for Terran - I HATE TERRAN !!! (i am noob Terran)

    leave your base defenseless, while your whole gang of stalkers or mutalisk wait at the entrance of your enemy base (stay out of sight) wait till you see your enemy approaching your base, THAT's you rush in and take out their Command Center. Do as much damage until they return, blink away or fly away.

    keep repeating that until they are totally crippled. while doing so build anti personnel units (Ultralisks or Collosus)

    it is not easy, you will need to be fast or they decide will decide to stay longer at your base.

    * they will always fall back to def their bases, unless you send 2 zerglings or 2 zealots..
    * whatever units you build, they know, no point hiding, they will just build stuff to counter it.

  • sorry, i have a mistake in my post.

    its the first push your enemy makes, not the 2nd. once you ward off the 1st push, immediately build those units mentioned ...

  • Buildings such as the merc compound, turrets and even units like the wraiths and medics among many others are only available in the campaign. Either the battle you watched was simply a custom map, or was showing you a campaign battle. Protoss and zerg will get their own single player only units when their campaigns get released.
