I actually investigated a little bit more....and the "freeze then exit" issue has gone now!! This issue was due to the RAM: I had 2x1GB memory modules, the point is that the 2 modules have different frequencies (PCxxxx), and this apparently leads to some "access violation" issue. So, I first started by removing one of the memory module, the game is ok, no freeze/crash, just a little bit slow (normal, only 1GB RAM). Then I added a second 1GB module, exactly the same, everything is ok. So, I am happy now :) and would like to thank people who made the sc2allin1 tool available.
