I've been wondering, how the hell do I play custom maps on Starcraft II? I have no idea of where to put the map files, and I don't even know what to do.
Of course, I can just join maps, but I would like to play with my friends without having to do that.
So ultimately:
1.- Where do I put the map files? 2.- Will I have to do anything to see the map? (I didn't see a 'custom' or 'downloaded' tab like Warcraft III had.
If you double click the map file doesnt matter where the editor should start, look around the menu's to find the test document, and u can play the custom map.
Yeah but you can only play the map single player only... how do you view the custom maps when playing against the AI? its all official blizzard maps when you log in...

Thanks for the help!
use starcraft 2 editor and open map click run button and play game...
Ok so blizzard requires custom maps to be uploaded to a central server to be played multiplayered.
If you go into multiplayer, select create game (under custom games), then select the drop down menu to 'popular'. Then do a search for your custom map.
if it's not there, you may be able to publish it... just kinda guessing here, see how this was done during the beta yt clip for an example. I heard somewhere that you can publish it for private use only??? i.e you and your mates...
Is there a way to play a map I've made the same as the stock maps? When I "test" the document using the editor the computer AI sucks. I want to set the AI to "Insane" so I can have a better match.
I also have not been able to get computer players to be allies on custom maps when testing them. I've gone into the Map tab and selected the Team Placement stuff but when I "Test Document" they are not allies.
I think it is total crap that blizzard took perfectly good features from the first starcraft and made this worthless junk... Why can't i just make a map and then use it in the game without being online or publishing it or any of that other crap... Blizard. You guys are morons!!!
For blizzards outstanding commitment to making amazing and memorable games you really are bashing them pretty hard on a system for custom map playing that is just a bit more complicated to understand.

Ugh, sorry for the double post. I forgot to say I have an original copy of the game, so I can log in to battle.net, etc. And my friends do too.
