btw YOUR MAPS are the OLD ones i said that 1000times and its on the FAQ as well!
the new files have SC2Map extension!
Is locale the same as localization? I changed it to english(US) but still that black screen with cursor.

Do manual patch and don't paste the cache folder.

your GAME IS NOT UPDATED to AT LEAST PATCH 17-18 BETA PHASE 2 the versions directory should look Like this! or have one more newer folder.
here is my directory as an example (my beta is at Phase2 patch 17)

@Anata, patch 17 will work just fine, and also patch 18 only fixed some problems that will not affect the gameplay. And I do no think there even is a patch 18 for enGB.
yeah i have enGB and patch 18 never came down, i forced enUS and fucked up my strings :P then i deleted everything and reinstalled beta and upgrade (because eu servers were up) directly to patch 17 and works stable.
just reinstalled again .. matched manually following the guide up to patch 18, clicked the "crack latest patch" button on the launcher, using maps from the download page. Still getting the same black screen with the terran mouse :( Has anyone who had this problem fixed it yet? @Champy any luck so far?

thanks for helping :) ... third time reinstalling for me ... this time after the install it would not patch up automatically so i had to manually do it... no change though, same black screen at launch

@SyKo i thought you are better than this! tell me what part of the previous post with MY screeshot is so hard to understand? you havent even patch 1 patch to your game and you are expecting to play?
YOU DIDNT PATCHED ANYTHING! compare your version to mine above! 13891 is the February 1st version launcher doesnt work with that! read again the article on manual patching and make sure this time its done ;-)
still not sure how to fix it :P .... though I do see whats wrong. I went to the patch page in the manual (that's this: http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=25170841374&postId=251683269625&sid=5000#0 )
followed the instructions here:
Downloaded all the patches up to 18 from this page, and extracted the zipped files to a folder called "Updates" in the Starcraft 2 Default directory. All I did was follow instructions on this page and nothing more. Have no idea how to get my version folder to look like yours :P

So I did all that ... extracted all the patches into the folder called "Updates" that you can see from the screenshot of my Starcraft 2 install directory. so my "Updates" folder looks like this:
. There was nothing I could see in the instructions about doing anything to the "Versions" folder. All I did was follow the Instructions I read.

look up one level and read an other topic on how to get up to patch 16+ i cant help you any more sorry.
you know what your issu is now you will fixe it!
just placing few files in one folder doesn tmake them patch!

Anyone else that follows the Noobs Manual EXACTLY is going to end up with the same problem, as some others have already. That is because the manual is mising all the information required to learn how to manually patch the game. I recommend at least putting a link to the 16+ patching thread or some type of step by step guide in the manual itself, or there will be more people with the same problem :)

look friend we are not BLizzard support team and the manual is for the tool not for the replays nor the patching process!
you have to understand that and dont ask so much!
seens i found you your problem its your time to fix it!
we just cant do anything for you or the rest of thousand users!
so dont blame the manual nor the tool.
Here's the problem I got
The launcher is working great I can choose everything and it is working.I'm having some problem with the maps.When I start the game the Xel'Naga watch towers and the gold mineral patches are not there spawned.
Is this an issue with the the maps the version or something else.
There are just to many posts and I haven't checked if the any1 else have already had this issue.
