To create a custom game, you either have to have recently played it on battlenet, or have published it yourself using the galaxy editor. Either way requires someone to have first published it on bnet before being able to play it. If you want to play a single player (vs AI) version of the map, you can use the SC2 Allin1 tool.
I'm new around here, and I desperatly drop by to find the answer to WHERE THE HELL I can select any custom map for SC2 once they're downloaded.
From what I've already read here, we need either to seek permission from Battle.net to play them or install that SC2AllIn1. In the first case, I really don't care about the very existence of Battle.net (I'm just a single player gamer), and in the second case, I'm weary about damaging the retail installation of SC2 using that tool... :(
Can anybody help a lonely-single-player and isolationist gamer to play the custom maps without more trouble? Thanks in advance... ;)
SC2ALLIn1 does not damage your files at all so you can use it without hesitation. SC2ALLIn1 is a legit program which is used to load up any maps so far. And one question... since you got the game retail why are you not just "seek permission"?
Well, I tried the SC2Allin1 already, and no effect; it seeks for the folder "\Local Settings\..blahblah..\Starcrfat II Beta", so no resources are found by the tool. That's the reason for I see it useless. Perhaps there's already a version of the tool for the retail?... :o
And for the question, I've DL'd a retail ISO that works, and even upgrade to v1.0.2 with no problems (I swear I could buy SC2 if it arrives to my country), but is useless if I can put the DL'd Maps in the "My Documents\Starcraft II\Maps" folder; the game doesn't recognize them. Besides, I already signed up in Battle.net (and I swear another thing: I don't want to play there), and no effect seeing the maps by the game.
As you can see, either I'm confused as how to install the custom maps, or I don't want to do it by the Battle.net way... :(
Well, I know that to all of you on this website this seems like the dumbest and easiest question to answer...
I just downloaded an SC2 map. I open up Starcraft and go to create custom game. the map i downloaded isn't in that list... How do i get it there?
Thanks,
SC2 gamer I.D.: ILoveLamp (Ahren)

Are you saying that you have to d/l the map from bnet before you can play it?

Are you sure you have the newest version of SC2Allin1? It has been updated constantly for retail.
Axel ... use newest version of SC2allin1... that is your problem you are using a version of the launcher which works only for beta version of the game
Hi and that's all...
Thanks for the interest. I've already DL'd the newest version, and all works pretty well.
Now for the campaign missions, and then I'll try every possible zilly map that I can encounter. Happy fighting boys!... :D
