Imagine this, u upload the best map on the sector ;P,next day u upload the best map on the galaxy as the the second version. But u forgot to place a geyser to for a player. So ur 1st map will be nicer than the 2nd. Thats why the rating r reset. Otherwise, maybe the worst map will be the best map :P
So people won't update their map for the fear of loosing their rating... that's just a nonsense. I must be able to choose if I want to reset rating and downloads, that can't be forced.
The rating reset has a meaning only when changing the release type (alpha, beta 1.0, 2.0 etc) but not when I make small releases with just bug fixes :|
Another solution is to show both ratings, global and for the single version. The global rating should be the most relevant however.
I'm also for some more options for map authors, like deleting old versions, or update the map into an old one, to pretend having like 50 mapversions out there.. normally I don't like, if people still can get the old buggy versions of the maps.. that's why I update them to pretend, that people load the old bugged versions of the map. Should also be added!
Why do they get reset each time a new version of a map is uploaded?
That's unsensed...
All popularity gets lost!
hey man, nothing is being reset. You are seeing that the new version of the map have any downloads
Yes but doesn't it fall down in the search list?
I think that comments, ratings and downloads should be shared for each version.
Maybe give both the overall stats and single version stats!
why are no option for users to complet delet they old map version?
So? Will that be fixed?
If you upload it as a "new version" it is listed as a project, and projects use totals across all versions.
Rating is always reset for each version. I know it's not lost but all rates are spread between different versions and that's not cool :|
