The alternative would be, to backup our legitimate cache and license info in the registry, login with a throwaway acount to unlock offline, crack the game to play hots.
And then copy everything back when you are done to go legit again.
I don't have access to my computer atm but I wonder if this will work.
well..
loaded your hots savegame...finished the mission..but after i press the proceed button to get to the next mission, my screen stays black (only the sc2 cursor visible)
looks like i cant start second mission..
what should i do?

No the links still works. Or did 45 minutes ago. Still trying to figure out if i can play the hots campaign through the save tho, so far no luck jsut says "unable to load map

After logging in online, I tried to login offline and I got a "Starcraft 2 starter edition cannot play in offline mode." Is there any way around this?
You need to copy the downloaded cache files to your installation after you installed the patch

Well I'm well on my way through the campaign :)
Everything works perfectly.
I backed up my legit license and cache files before applying the crack. Hope I can just put everything back when I'm done.
@vernam7 followed the guide as clearly as i possible and im stuck with after running the game without internet. logged in sc2 with internet and used my free bnet account, copied the cache folder, disabled connection when using keygen. now when i try to start the game it keeps on saying updating blizzard launcher. and i have disabled the internet for it as you said. any help would be appreciated. thx
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've never played Starcraft 2 before this. I downloaded the starter pack (it downloaded 14 gigs of data), logged in online, quit, unplugged the internet, logged in again, and got "starcraft 2 starter edition cannot play in offline mode." Is that what's supposed to happen, or do I need to successfully login to an offline session? I'm following 4a & 4b from the first page:
4)Start the game normally WITH internet connection once, and login with your free battle.net account.(i recommend to check the remember account box to avoid typing it again and again.)
when logged in, you will get the message that you have the starter edition, that normal, now exit the game.
4b)Now try again to login into the game BUT without internet connection! offline as starter edition, and then exit.
Make sure the launcher is completely done updating (you can login before that but will not have all of hots downloaded) Login online. Get offline. Copy cache and apply keygen (admin mode). Make sure you keep that file called offline there in the cache- that's the whole point of doing all that. After all that, make sure sc never sees internet again...or it will know your license is jacked. Just cancel when the launcher shows up to update.
You can also check the registry path Current user/software/blizzard/bnet/s2- if keygen worked correctly there will be a license generated there.

Just follow the steps from page 1, Vernam7, nothing else.

(to block SC .exe and others on firewall, put your firewall in PARANOIC state, e click BLOCK in every window that come to you)
after havig the SC2 wonrking on offline mod, campaing and challenges, begin the second step

and download eh save game from Vernam7, in his tutorial
enter SC2 (remember to keep every .exe blocked on firewall)

got it to work right now. now my only problem is I can't seem to be able to block my SC2. if i have disabled my internet connection i can play offline just fine. but when i have internet connection and i block sc2 it goes to starter edition and is still connected to the internet. i'm just using windows firewall btw. any suggestions on what a better app to block sc2? or are there more to block than just the exe itself? thx
When you say "get offline," do you mean unplug the ethernet cable after signing in online while the game is running?

Blocking is too complicated to get right...so many different processes from blizzard. just unplug the cable or turn off the wifi switch.
Btw the save file is still there in that link...
Well I actually blocked about 8 exe
but you dont need to look for them, put your firewall on the highest level of treat, mine is called PARANOIC, i use bit defender,
them everything that tries to conect to internet will be shown to you, then you click BLOCK
OR check the APP list, perhaps some .exe are already allowed to connect, so edit them

So for me I can play that first level of HotS, but then after I finish the level the screen turns black with the SC2 mouse cursor and I am forced to exit the game and I cannot do anything else. Any support from there?

I passed the first mission of HoTS, and currently sneaking on playing the second mission (I'm at my lunch break). Very great job guys, I feel like giving everybody a deep juicy kiss. And I really don't mean to be gay or anything.

no risk at all, no need to use the keygen, just get the hots save file place it in your saves and load it! enjoy HotS.
no need for all that troubles, there is no "illigal cache", you can play hots if you have legit wol, as i said above just by loading the save.-
