hi, i was able to load the campaign. ran it a few minutes, but when i try to restart the campaign, it suddenly showed this "not full version. need to download files to play offline blah blah". now everytime i start the client, it says that. what could have been the problem?
Yea, it doesn't work.
Reverting back to 2.0.5 is more sophisticated than replacing that SC2.exe in Base24944 folder.
The current situation is as follows (applies to most of us who updated to 2.0.6):
1. There are no higher numbers after 'Base24944'. There's nothing to delete.
2. If you delete Base24944, the game doesn't run at all.
3. If you replace the SC2.exe from Vernam's link, the game still doesn't run. (File missing error).
This is, of course, with internet connection disabled.
Let's work towards the solution! Let me know if I can help in any way.

it's funny cos i'm pretty damn sure i didn't update to 2.0.6, anyway, everyone whose copy no longer works should post symptoms and actions leading to the problem so readers of this thread will no longer do the same mistakes >___<
where is this cache folder? In game directory or elsewere?

i am going to post a new workarround solution here guys before updating the 1st page i need all of you with 2.0.6 to verify it!
unfortunatly the PM that was waiting never came, so i am sharing this with you as it is
for those that deleted the base folder, connect your internet let the launcher fix it self by updating!
its a manual solution for now but i am making a tool to do it automatically for noobs!
it may not work for everyone.-
how to enable Hots Button "new campaign" ingame button, and save loadings.
1)go to your account directory (example C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\StarCraft II\Accounts\130000003) and open the Variables.txt file.
2)edit the following line to look like this:
LastCampaignId=1
3)download and run the following registry file to update your license to hots: http://adf.ly/KmkFB
4)be very careful now, start your game offline, and if it worked you will see the title saying starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm, not Wings of Liberty, then go to campaign and you will see this screen:
DO NOT CLICK any other button from WOL or chalanges because the HOTS image will disapear. exactly as it is in the screen go to the NEW Campaign button and this will start the HOTS campaign. and the next time will have continue, load etc too. but DO NOT click on any other button. if you click by accident any other WOL buttons the HOTS buttons will dissapear, close the game and re-edit the variables.txt files as i say on step 2 to fix it.

Hi vernam7 I followed you guide yesterday and Had the same problem, the thing is I use my firewall to block online mode but even tho the launcher initiated an update I tried to cancel it then Disabled my network adapter to prevent the update. Then thing is that once really offline the launcher detected an update had started and said I could not play offline before completing the update. but that to Windows 7 UAC popping in this setup I found out that there is an .exe I forgot to block located in C:\ProgramData\Battle.net\Agent\Agent.exe that the agent seems to use for patching. There is also a subfolder with the same exe: C:\ProgramData\Battle.net\Agent\Agent.1675\agent.exe. I will try blocking these both and apply you Update backup see what happens. Thanks for you involvement in all this.

I am saddened to report that it doesn't work. I followed your steps exactly and carefully.
I 'repaired' my client, so it's the standard 2.0.6 version that everyone has by default.
I followed your step, and I get the exact same error 'file is missing' error.
How do I un-do your registry settings? Now I can't even run the WoL (repair doesn't work- uh oh).

c on dude you have to previously fully cracked the wol as teh instruction say on page one. just dont add teh cache.
if your account is still in SE you didnt do it right.
delete everything from cache, and registry, start the game and login with internet to your account normally in wol.
this should fix all your missing files you deleted!
actually the files should be fixed when the launcher starts before pressing the "play" button.
after that just add the new workarround registry license i posted fro hots few posts up.
do this with internet off.
this will upgrade your account from fully wol to fully hots too! hopefully. start the game offline

Guess Someone on this forum, maybe not posting at all is working for Blizzard and they reacted to this guide.

I have the retail version of WoL and was running the HOTS campaign on 2.0.5 ONLINE fine
I tried this also in online, ( I can't try it in offline because i uninstalled and am currently reinstalling it) and it is not working
