Thanks for your effort, snify, really thanks man.
It's insane, I managed to play, but couldnt save and pressing ESC didn't do anything, it didn't open any "save" or "load" window.
Then I closed the game, reopened it (with internet killed) and all of a sudden I don't have 100% of the game files.
And I MANAGED to play already, so I followed all the steps perfect !
I tried eliminating the variable and the entire folder.
To no result.

I just redid the tutorial like 4 times and my game works now after I skipped step 5 :)

if the files are missing. Go to:
http://files.patchup.info/sc2/product-zip/
download your language and extract
Index.SC2Locale and Product.SC2Archive and copy it to your StarCraft II\Mods\Core.SC2Mod folder.
Make sure to make a backup first!
@ me, sorry man I can´t help, I follow the first tutorial and works, maybe something has chaged because there are many errors, maybe an installer is a good idea, but 14gb with home connection... only a torrent

If you guys have this problem, thats because your SC2.exe in Base24944 is the WRONG on (for example you use enGB SC2.exe although you need enUS). Just open the Starcraft II Launcher. Click on HELP and click on repair tool. This will take a while, yet faster than reinstall. DO NOT DOWNGRADE WITH ENUS OR ENGB IF YOU DONT HAVE THE RIGHT LANGAUGE!
Um, i got one problem i did everthying but when i start the game click connect and after that pops a windows which says: starcraft 2 starters edition cant play on offline mode. Any idea what i must do?

I did everything you said in the instructions, starcraft was working fine, I was able to play the first missions in the heart of the swarm campaign, until after 4-5th mission, it showed a message that I am missing some files, and couldnt load the next mission. I closed the game, relaunched it, and now I get a window saying "Files are missing from your Stacraft II installation, and gives me the option to send an error report to Blizzard.
Does anyone else had this problem?

I fixed my issue after deleting the "Base24944" and "Updates" folders for the second time, then copy pasting the ones from 2.0.5 that Vernam7 linked in this thread.
I dunno why, but even though I have blocked all stacraft related .exes including the launcher, somehow the game might have access to the blizzard servers and thats how it was corrupt in the first place.
Hope this helps someone.

go here and use this small loader to load the game completely offline for sure always, to prevent this from happening. blizzard has a billion fucking small utilities that connect to their servers!

i had this problem too. files are missing.i read i follow all step in first page. i only had problem on downgrade step. i can start SCII because of files missing. i use en_us version. the missing file is actually the SCII.exe like snify say. repair tool not work.i try copy only the old SCII.exe from my backup, now i can start SCII but it still patch 2.06 . some one give me an advice or right downgrade files,please.thank you. don't get mad with me vernam i really appreciate your work.
Repair didn't work? Did you delete the SC2.exe from the base folder and then tried to repair?

And yes you're right, the game is able to connect to the blizzard servers, because I have already tried your "TIP How to block your Game from accessing the web." thing, and still same result.

i still can start SCII when i replace two files updates and base24944. i pretty sure that downgrade for us version have a problem.i reinstall and downgarde and it still not work.is someone who use en_us and sucessfully downgarde
I don't even have to guess, cause I AM pretty sure that you DO NOT have the enUS version...

Start the game from its shortcut normally, when you see the message trying to connect to stream server just press cancel for the game to load."
It shows me there was a problem connecting to blah blah blah if problem persists contact customer support. No choice to play offline.

And now after redownloading everything and cracking it says files are missing.
Download game start log in with account
close game, shut off internet, run crack
delete updates and basewhatever
replace them with the .rar ones
start again and it doesn't work says files are missing.
