Metalopolis. Good map but lenient to Terran?

  • Heading says it all. I reckon that Terran dominates in this map, simply cous they can lift off and avoid ground unit attack. Havent seen many pros for Zerg and Protoss. (Tell me if there are any!)

  • Protoss:shields,buildings build them self, can kill 4 marines with one zealot there amazing plus they have the mothership which is great for covering up your army with cloak.

    Zerg:if you spam them, they can kill an entire army with tons of roaches and zerglings, move faster on the creep, has the worm so they can travel anywhere,

    Terran:can lift off, hq cna have radar or guns,battle-cruzer beats mostly anything,the viking is both ground unit and air, and the thor is ok, the tracker(that radar thing)

    if you really think about it terran is one of the least best, but it's realy how you play them.

    The OP is obviously not referring to the Terran race as a whole, but focused on how the Terran perform in the map.

    In my opinion, the Zerg and Protoss have a pretty good way to make up for it. The steam vents in the back of each main base are very nice points to put a Nydus Worm or deploy a Warp Prism.

  • I think he's talking about lifting off the gold minerals in the center of the map.

    They're a bitch to hold and being terran helps.

  • Because I've come to expect early expansions at the gold minerals, it's not difficult to send a very early scout to check it out.
    Trust me, scouting these areas ASAP can be the difference between winning and losing (I have a few replays which show just that, and helped me to win)

    Any terran lifting off immediately, to land on the gold minerals can't land when a drone/probe is underneath it.. at least until the SCV's come into play.

    But still, every second you keep that Command Center off the map as he tries to land in the gold, the stronger of an advantage you will have to rush ahead and destroy the enemy economy before they can take advantage of the golden minerals.

    As for lifting off, this happens on any map, and you should always be prepared to make air units at any time to seal the deal.

    @Artanis186 - Actually, I've seen terran wiggle their way back there and make barracks and a few marines, then build a bunker and load em in for a strong early game harass which usually results in the destruction of the base.

    Protoss may do the same with cannons, but not as effective due to limitations of pylon power.

    Warp in and Nydus are mid game, so unless the player is a noob, you can get away with reinforcing from the steam vents.

  • I think Metalopolis lends itself very well to Terran nevertheless, because there's always the (regular) expansion near the top of the map that's really easy for a Terran to fly to and hold with a few turrets. But realistically speaking Zerg are pretty strong too, just because they can usually get a fast expo up without too much trouble. Although you know where the other player is, without destroying the rocks for a shorter path it takes a while to run through to the other player's base.
