  • There's definetly an weakness at the start of the game where zerg has no anti-air units. The other races have cheap AA units that are available faster than anything zerg has. Zerg has to tech two times more (lair, hydralisk den/mutalisk) to get at those aa units. (I'm talking about offensive units, yeah we've got the queen and spore crawler, but the other races have offensive AA units).

    I think it's definetly done on purpose and as a zerg player I have no issues with it. I scout early, if I spot anything I don't like I go lair tech a bit earlier (it's not like it's expensive). The power of zerg early game MORE than makes up for it.
