  • Allow people to delete a map they uploaded, via the "Edit" function. Make them list a reason why, so the Moderators know whether or not to actually remove the map.

For example, a valid reason would be "Wrong version, map crashes when played" or "Old version of a map that is already uploaded on Nibbits, see [link here]."

EDIT: Also, please make the minimap-preview function something that is OPTIONAL. Some maps, like RPG's and various puzzle maps, are designed assuming you cannot see the whole map. Ideally you would allow users to upload their own little title-picture instead.

For now you can stick a comment on the map's page. Moderators were recently given the ability to delete maps, so I can do that for you.

    Agreed.

  • Allow people to edit or delete their comments on maps. For example, on my map BattleShips Pro v1.199 (http://nibbits.com/wc3/maps/view/125615/ , I would like to update my comment to direct people to a different voice chat server.

  • should be a feature to allow us to remove/alter the status of a previously uploaded map

  • It would be cool if it was possible to place screeenies of your map in action onto the map's page-->ofc this would be checked up on before actually showing up by a moderator or admin to make sure the screenie is porno ><
Also on a similiar note. . . adding replays of the map.

  • dcramerI may switch to a karma system I designed on another site. The "highest rated" just doesn't work all that well.

Basically, your votes would be on a karma scale, being positive or negative. So a 1-star or 2-star might be a -2 and a -1, where a 3-star is a 0, 4-star is +1, and 5-star is +2. Then all maps start at 0(N) (which is basically neutral but a large weighting).

This makes it so that a map that has many more ratings can rank much higher than a map with fewer, but higher scoring ratings.

+1 I Think when it comes to rating maps this is an AWSOME idea

Screenshots are one of the "upcoming" (aka, sooner or later) features. Never really thought about allowing users to just submit shots of maps while they're playing, but may end up doing that since we're trying to promote a wiki-like content structure.

  • Now we just need that tool for removing troll votes from people that make an account just to vote down one map or person's maps. As in that one instance I brought to your attention recently.

Be careful though about banning people for disliking more maps than they like. I will be the first to attempt that not all the maps on here are of that great quality and it's quite possible for someone to try out a bunch of bad ones in a row and vote them down. Though since people should comment and do other things it shouldn't be too hard to distinguish between people that dislike maps and are giving honest feedback and spammers just trying to get some map rated down.

  • Not sure how to quote, but:

    @Post above me:

What if it were possible to only have a review be counted if they also posted a comment on the map? (Or had previously posted a comment)

That sorta fixes that problem, but at the same time it opens the door to comment spam, which would need a minimum character limit to be counted as a post..

Or perhaps change the comment section into a "review map comment" Where you have a form that you can fill out that says something like:

    (Current Terrain: Stars etc) Why?:
[Form box to input why it lacks, or why its good]

    so on so forth.

  • That might be a good way to do it. However, I implemented a few things (including tools to remove them) which should fix the spam votes :)

  • I usually rate and comment on maps in sequence with rating first to help remind me what sort of comment I am leaving for the map. And usually a few jotted notes from when I played it. I think requiring people to comment to rate might just result in some useless comments and repetition. If people like a map they will hopefully find it and rate it. If they really like or dislike a map then I'm sure they will comment.

  • Nibbits is definitely starting to grow on me, but it needs a bit more work.

    Few things:

    • Allow importing existing maps into new projects. Or can I already?
    • I like projects, but they need RSS feeds. Gimme some of these and I'll be a happy happy Templar!
    • Be nice for project comments to be mirrored into a designated forum thread. Or...
    • Create and mirror a whole new subforum for each project into its comments section instead. Mirror threads in that subforum for each map's comment section, too.
    • Hide IP addresses from the public? Or at least from people under a certain level? Just a thought...
    • [s]Embedded chat?[/s] - Bah never mind this one.

Actually they're all optional, of course. Except RSS feeds. I WILL hunt you down if those aren't available soon!

    :P

  • Please consider my ideas on [link="http://www.nibbits.com/sc/forums/12/view/268/?p=1#p6073"]map authors verification[/link] and [link="http://www.nibbits.com/sc/forums/12/view/268/?p=1#p6074"]Bnet accounts verification[/link].

Also, the personal subforum for each project would be a great thing! With a default subthread where all comments go! (This is how I understood Tux, at least.)

Also, I would like a personal friends list to have a fast access to my buddies :)

Also, there is a number of unofficial Bnet servers around. You may want to add an option to add the other Bnet servers with accounts as well.

Also, I don't like how it redirects me to the first page of the thread every time I edit this post ]:< (Sorry if already mentioned above.)

Also, I support the opinion to have the current page and total number of pages somewhere.

  • I'd like to edit comments. I wrote a simple comment on a map and decided I wanted to expand it into more of a review, but that option wasn't open to me and I didn't want to double-post.

  • Theres a minor typo when uploading a map for a project. It says "You will get 15XP for uploading a new project".
    Map, not a project XD

  • I wonder if you could make it to where you have to be a certain lvl before you can RATE maps. People are logging on as many diff accounts and rating maps. Of course this would have nothing to do with being able to post. It would make it to where a rating is also more valuable, seeing as it is coming from a contributing member. I have had 6 ratings from accounts that haven't been used for anything but to rate my map. (all 1s) :p thanks

  • This is an old isse here, Lazerus. Right now the IP range is visible and you can report if you see that the same IP rated your map more than once.

And I'm afraid that adding a requirement to rate maps would decrease deastically the number of ratings we would have.

Another request: Make users (or at least mods) be able to edit posts at map's pages.

Be preparaed for reviews at a whole new level..

  • ISP is easy to get around...

"A person, per say, could go to multiple friends houses, library, school, Wi-Fi, to create a new ISP ID. It just seems obvious when one person rates it a 1 then 4 more people with no other posts also rate it the same. They don’t say anything or even go to any other threads, it’s as if their one purpose was to come directly to rate and leave.

  • NEW ISSUE: Am I the only one who is seeing white txt on white backs when hovering the ratings icons of people who rated maps?
