Known Issues: - Multiplayer: Klicking on the Go! Button at the same time will spawn four armies instead of two. - Infestor/Rook Zerg: Right-Klick on enemy does not work. Just klick in the field instead! - Promotion: Trying to move Units while promotion will cause some Errors but i think you can play on.
This amazing map let you play chess with lovely StarCraft units .
You enjoy watching starcraft units actions, when you advance your chess strategy .
I am sure you will have fun with this map ...
All Units are placed by triggers and the ghost academy should be hidden by a trigger :D. So i think the triggers do not work :/. Could you please check whether there are Triggers in the Editor or not? I heard about a problem with this using an editor with different language. I use the US version. But I am not sure about this problem ;).
wonderful map there is no ghost academy ,works perfect with us editor but there isnt alert for king when he move to checkmate and if you could make it vs computer!!!!! thanks a lot for map
Check out the new Version ;). Now there is an alert :). Took nearly ages to write the triggers but finally it is done! I am very sorry but playing against a computer won't come. It is way too difficult (and too much work!!!!!) writing a whole chess AI with the editor ;)
Could you make it so that both players can make moves that will cause the King to be killed? Right now the ONLY way for either player to win is checkmate :S
Aside from that, good work. I especially like the Reaper as the Knight, good choice :P
Btw, I think it'd be appropriate for the Marine to be the Pawn piece as opposed to the Marauder. A Terran chess set WITHOUT any Marines ... its just not right!
@names: Marines as Pawns? Yeah i'll think of that. Making moves that kill the King? Hey that was exactly the old version ^^. It was so much work writing the triggers for check, checkmate, stalemate... But of course I can build an option to turn it off again ;) maybe next version in one or two days. The Protoss are coming!

@terran: No problem. Hey now i know the English word for it :). I am from Germany and here we call it Rochade ^^. Doesn't sound German, so i thought it would be used in all languages. (I'll change it in the description ;))
Very nice in general, I do think you could shorten some of the moves though. The pawn doesnt really have to do a cheer/dance everytime it kills something and a host of other things. Alternatively, you could implement an option to quicken/skip some of these.

I'd rate it 8/10 as i think there are very litle thing to improve. Most of it is only Eye-Candy, and I know, some of this was allready mentioned. anyway...
1- for example i'd change the attack- animation depending wether the target is biological, or mechanic. for example: Reaper shot with Pistols on bio. and throw charges on mechanics.
2- some terrain arround the "battlefield"
3- change how many times a unit have to shot on a specific unit. for example: Marauders need one shot for an Marauder, Reaper, Ghost- and one or two shots more for an tank
4- this one is the really importent one!!! Give the King an Self-Destruct Abillity (Give Up) as i always ended up chasing my Girlfriends One and Only King arround the Battlefield!
I think it's worth a shot for me even though I was never a chess fan, is it possible for you to include like a mini tutorial on playing chess somewhere in the future? Teh, great job and great idea.
Verry Nice so far, Protoss really add flare of strategic warfare, and im sure the Zerg will aswell
but i encountered a bug that sometimes a unit wont die, and remains on the field, wich will obviously cause problems when the winning unit moves to designated field,
or another bug where my unit just wont move, i checked for half an hour all possibilities why it shouldnt be possible, my turn, no check and so on... nothin found, so guess its a bug ^^
note that i encoutered the first-mentioned bug with patch 11, and the second with patch 10

OffShore, you should be posting in the forums instead of the comments of a specific map. As for the problem, make sure you have patched starcraft to the latest version, patch 11 and if it still fails, try opening it with the starcraft 2 editor or reinstalling starcraft 2 if all else fails.
Awesome work, but some of the pieces like the queen (ghost) take way too long to make a move.
How do I play in this map?
I have patch 10 and I tried to use the ctrl+F9 to test the map but all it shows is a ghost academy.

Castling
Castling consists of moving the king two squares towards a rook, then moving the rook onto the square over which the king crossed

nice job bro, you should make it so each player can choose the race of their chess pieces, but that can wait till we can play custom games online ;D
