Idea taken from the old Starcraft game. You have very limited unit and try to kill huge army by using every advantage possible. Every Scenario you clear will give you resources for the IMPOSSIBLE SCENARIO at the end. Be sure to clear most of them or it really will be impossible. Good luck!
Really fun, good way to learn micro and SOME of the levels are well thought out. However the game is let down by a few which are just irritating, i think you probably know which ones these are, and if their sole purpose is to be a bit of a tease then i guess thats fine, but the potential here is huge and had the balancing been done so as to help the player and scale the levels id recommend this heartedly to anyone. Its something to ponder, i hope you make more :D
Hi guys, I am the maker of this map (franck.626 in beta phase 2) I hope you enjoyed or are going to enjoy playing this map. I did it in a very short time so there might have very difficult scenario.
Hi Franck.626. I purposely joined this site so I could help review this map but I apparently cant post a review until "level 3". As such, here are my comments as I believe this map is worthy of review since it seems that a lot of thought was put into this. I hope the following comments help. It is in 3 comments since I cant fit it in 1.
I Just played your mission impossible map in the Starcraft 2 beta and managed to beat it. A few things I would like comment about concerning bugs/and or difficulty.
Scenario 1: Comments: Is actually very difficult. It requires excellent microing with marauders, far beyond the level of your average player. The banelings are what make it very difficult, it is possible but for a "easy" map it is discouraging to see how difficult it is. Scenario 2 is by far much easier. Suggestions: Either decrease the difficulty a bit or rank this scenario as harder than easy.
Scenario 7: Comments: Actually impossible to beat I believe, there are way too many things to kill, too much aggro, and not enough troops.
Scenario 7 Infestor Comments: I dont know whether this was intended or not, but using an infestor to neural parasite any unit in Scenario 7 is limited. There is a very short time limit for control of the unit rather than the description which states "until one dies." Also, when taking over a (lets say a colossus) the colossus is not attacked by AI, but it can attack AI Units.
Final Mission: COmments: While my team of 4 (including me) managed to discover the secret combination to win, (which I wont reveal here) there is a HUGE bug in this. As soon as you defeat the zerg, several bugs arise. Bugs!! A) Instead of 300 Minerals, 200 gas you receive 3000 minerals, 2000 gas. B) This is also set on an infinite loop, by the time i spent my money I had accrued over 40,000 minerals and gas. C) I believe your programming has also affected the Terran and Protoss sections as well. As soon as we defeated Terran, the message would repeatedly pop up and we seemed to be doubling the money (6000 min, 4000 gas). Regardless, it wasnt difficult to finish the rest of the map + the message's repeat loop was extremely annoying.
Suggestions: Allow players to sell their units in the final mission up till a certain time (I would say give them 2 minutes or so to choose their units and sell). We had one person invest in carriers and found that they were useless since you had to buy interceptors. As such, he just sat there until we finished the zerg side. Also, I would place the units in a confined area to begin so that people dont accidentally attack things/move around too much. Fianlly, I would add a message suggesting that Players purchase at least one observer for Protoss, although I think the mothership gave that away.
Bonus Stage 1 Comments: Was definitely a good idea but it is extremely hard. When we all died there was no anti-air to kill the drop ship. Which meant we couldn't move past bonus stage 1 and attempt the other bonus stages. Suggestions: I would make it 2 marauders instead of 1. and the rest marines, this way at least u get 2 chances to kite. Bugs!! A) When you move the dropship to the top of the map in this stage, you can see a nydus canal and some banelings. B) If you just randomly keep flying there, for some reason player 1 can use the nydus canal, and the banelings. Further, with infinite money, we just placed a million nydus canals after our deaths to mess around until Starcraft 2 crashed for me.
Final Suggestion: Give players who die something to do. Some players aren't very friendly about letting other people use their units. Thus, I would suggest putting them in a small box on the side of every map where players can just shoot eachother randomly or something to allow them time to relax while other players finish.
Anyways, I hope these comments/bugs/suggestions help and your map was really fun! I can tell that a lot of thought, familiarity with Starcraft 2 units, and intelligence was used in creating this map. I look forward to other maps you are thinking of creating and keep up the good work!
Wow Thanks a lot Athlaka about all these comment. I'll be sure to listen to everything you said...As I agree with everything ^^ Thanks again! Only thing I got to say would be to post it there because I almost didn't see this awesome comment! :) http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/impossible-scenario-f/#comments
